When you buy a car you see it everywhere? It is called the “Baader-Meinhof Phenomenon” or “frequency illusion”. Baader-Meinhof is the phenomenon where one happens upon some obscure piece of information– often an unfamiliar word or name– and soon afterwards encounters the same subject again, often repeatedly.
Mark J and the MKE team harp on being the observer. Each week of our Franklin Makeover we are asked to focus on a virtue, such as Persistence, Discipline, Courage, Kindness, Taking Initiative, Decisiveness,… This week we are focusing all week on things behaving true to their nature, things in harmony…
From Week 6 of the Master Key Master Mind Alliance Course we are asked, in the Honor requirements, “Unless directly asked, give NO OPINIONS. Period. Be the non-judgmental OBSERVER.
This week I am noticing how, even in trying circumstances, 13 deaths in 3 months, threat of divorce, judgmental co-workers,… how much MKE participants have changed and are quietly going about achieving their goals. Nothing seems to phase them.
Even when they relate their challenges, it is as though they rise above circumstance or outside events. They can see and feel how it affects them, however they convey assurity, that everything is alright. “Things are the way that they are and that is okay.”
Almost in the same breath, it’s like their future self seems to talk. Their demeanor is open, appreciative, happy. They know “This too will pass.” And, they can visualize a favorable outcome.
They were able to share without being emotionally because “truth” had set them free. They have done the work. They are doing the work on a daily basis.
To recognize something in others is to recognize it in ourselves.
I am experiencing my own challenges with preparing my SIAWordPlay Course for the Tapas For Life Launch on March 31.
I was living on the erroneous presumption that I had to have a course that was 2 – 4 hours long and have spent several days trying to cull my course. Today I would be doing just that – culling my presentation. More agonizing… but worth it!
However, in today’s early morning webinar the truth set me free. The illusion I had was ‘time’ or the length of the course.
The words “You can have 5 hours if you want,” from Liane Hack this morning, totally freed me up.
The monkey is off my back.
Now to work.

It’s a monkey management thing.
Who’s monkey is this?
Guy, perhaps I could have offered the ‘monkey’ up in love to the Universe. The expression came to me when I was writing, but looking at the following definition, maybe it’s worth a SIT. Definition of getting the monkey off one’s back. : to remove or solve a problem that has been difficult to get rid of or solve : to get rid of a problem or situation that makes one unhappy and that lasts for a long time. I was unconscious of the fact that I possessed erroneous beliefs that limited me. The ‘management’ was simply becoming aware. The magic was being present and available without judgement so that I created a space where others could voice the truth. Have a beautiful day. Grant
